My Story

After more than three decades lighting celebrities as a Gaffer in film and television, Tom Burke traded the glitz of Hollywood sets for a life with more meaning—and more mountains. A move from Atlanta to the hills of North Georgia marked a return to his small-town roots, having grown up in rural Michigan and longed for the peace of the country ever since. These days, he’s more likely to be found feeding horses, chickens, dogs, and cats than the egos of A-listers.

Living as a gentleman farmer suits Tom just fine, and it’s inspired him to help others find their own version of mountain living. Whether that means a secluded cabin with long-range views, a lakefront home steps from the dock, or a basecamp near Fannin County’s famed trout streams, Tom knows the lifestyle is as varied as the people it draws in. You don’t have to raise livestock to live the dream—just bring your sense of adventure. The mountains have plenty to offer, without giving up great restaurants, culture, or community.
